12/25/09: MERRY CHRISTMAS!! Unfortunately, it’s not a white Christmas (again) this year…it is wet though…lots of rain. The bummer is that if it was cold enough we’d be getting tons of snow…dang it! Anyway, Christmas morning was wonderful with lots of surprises for everyone. Check out the pictures (added to the link above). The afternoon will be spent with Mike’s family at Michelle’s house.

12/24/09: Sean and Anna exchanged their gifts on Christmas Eve. Sean gave Anna an 14k white gold, diamond engagement ring passed down from Brie’s Mom. There is also a matching wedding band. There is not a date set and no immediate plans for the wedding. The pictures have been added to the photo album link above.

12/23/09: We went to Scottsburg, IN for the annual Meagher Christmas Party. We had lots of fun with the family, shared some yummy food, the kids had a gift exchange, and the adults played dirty santa. This year Mike and I ended up with a Fry Daddy and Slider Maker. 12/22/09: A few more pictures have been added to the album including a couple of pictures of the tree that uses a star filter for effect and pictures of the house with our yard sign announcing our house as a decoration contest winner. Our home won for Most Beautiful in the neighborhood chosen by our HOA.

12/17/09 - This year’s photo albumn starts with 3 pictures of the house (2) and Christmas tree with new LED lights. It’s a different look than what we’ve been used to yet it’s still beautiful.

Snow Whirl

Sean escorted Anna to her senior year winter formal dance, Snow Whirl, on December 12, 2009. They both looked wonderful in their formal attire and they even danced while there.

Break In

Our house was broken into on October 14, 2009. Cody arrived home, on the bus, around 3:10pm to find the front door literally leaning across the doorway and both Gemini and Mekah standing inside the foyer waiting for him. He called 9-1-1 and the police arrived to process the scene.

The only thing that was taken was jewelry from Brie’s jewelry boxes upstairs in her bedroom. Unfortunately, they took some irreplaceable items that had a lot of sentimental value. The suspect left a clear foot print on the front of the door, but other than that, there isn’t much to go on.

November 21, 2009 – our front door is finally fixed! We are no longer barricaded inside our home. You never realize how much you use the front door until you can’t use it. Sometimes, using the garage to come in and leave the house was a pain.

Cody’s Freshman Year

Cody started off his Freshman year with plans to play Freshman football and in the marching band. Unfortunately, the schedule was a little crazy so Cody decided that he wanted to participate in band this year and may try to do both next year.

With the marching band Cody attends competitions almost weekly. He plays in the pit…percussion instruments such as the bells (xylophone), gong, cymbals, etc.

The Mt. Vernon Band of Marauders made it to the semi-state competition this year, earning several gold ratings. Unfortunately, they did not qualify for the state finals. However, they were able to play during the half-time at the Hoosier Heritage Days in Lucas Oil Stadium…home of the Indianapolis Colts! Those pictures have been added to the album.

Sean’s Band – As The Fallen Rise

Sean and some friends from high school are in a band together – As The Fallen Rise (ATFR). Sean is the lead guitarist. Also in the band is his best friend, Rick, on drums, Blake on lead vocals, and DJ on bass guitar. They were able to go into the studio and create a demo CD. Brie is the volunteer media specialist for the group and attends as many of the shows as possible taking photos and capturing video of the performances. ATFR played their first live performance on August 20, 2009 at the Terre Haute Music Venue (THMV) in Terre Haute, IN. Unfortunately, Brie forgot the memory card for her camera and the videos did not turn out well, however, you can see pictures from others in the audience members on their My Space page.

On September 26, 2009 ATFR played at the 1st Annual Sugar Creek Fall Fest held at the S&H Campground in Greenfield, IN. All together 12 bands played at the event. Pics: http://picasaweb.google.com/brieandmike/ATFRSH?feat=directlink

October 31, 2009 – ATFR played a show on Halloween, however Brie was out of town, in Orlando, FL, and did not attend.

Mt. Vernon Graduation! (And Promotion)

May 29th was an eventful and emotional day. Cody was promoted from Middle School to High School that morning and in the afternoon Sean graduated from High School.

We were fortunate to have most of our family present at the ceremonies. We had Brie’s family from Vegas (Sandie (Nana), Bob (Granpi), and Uncle Bo) and Mike’s family: From Indiana, Aunt Michelle, Uncle Nathan, Cousins Caitlyn, Alex, and Irk (Andrew), Donna (Grandma) and Red (Grandpa); From Vegas, Aunt Pamela.

During Cody’s promotion ceremony he was able to play for the last time in the Middle School band.

Cody turns 14 years old!

Cody enjoyed a party with the family including homemade chocolate cake and gifts. He celebrated with Mom and Dad, Sean, Grandma Donna & Red, Aunt Michelle, Uncle Nathan, and Cousins Caitlyn, Alex, and Irk (Andrew).

Then, a few days later he had a party with his friends at Dark Armies, an indoor paintball field. Dad, Sean, and Rick (Sean’s best friend) joined in the fun.

Mike & Brie Celebrate 19 Years Married!

So, Mike and Brie celebrated 19 years married and 20 years as a couple on February 25, 2009. They went out to dinner at the Cheesecake Factory that evening then, the following evening went to see Jeff Dunham.

They exchanged gifts. Brie gave Mike both of Tony Dungy’s (former Indianapolis Colts Head Coach) books and an opportunity to meet him and have him sign the books. Mike gave Brie beautiful jewelery: a necklace of cultured pearls with matching earrings.

Sean is 18!

Yep, it’s true! Sean turned 18 years old today! Wow, time flies. Between Christmas and his birthday gifts he got an entire new stereo system for his car. He and Dad will be working on the install soon. Which means lots of noise for the neighbors. haha

Sean plans to celebrate with a couple of friends by jamming out in the garage with his guitar, a bass guitar, and drum set and enjoying pizza. We will celebrate with the family Saturday night with a Dairy Queen Reese’s Peanutbutter Cup Blizzard cake.

Christmas 2008

Merry Christmas to all of our family and friends. We hope you had a great holiday. We’ve had a great one here.

On December 20, we joined the Meagher side of the family for the annual Christmas party complete with dinner, dessert, “Dirty Santa”, and the holiday movie “Christmas Vacation”.

Then, today, we got up around mid-morning to see what “Santa” delivered to our house on Christmas Eve. Sean got some new stereo equipment for his car, Cody got an iPod Nano, Mike got a Blue Ray Disc player & edger for the yard, and Brie got a new craft armoire. Those are just our biggest gifts.

After opening gifts, cleaning a little bit, building two new desks (for the boys), and playing a lot of Guitar Hero World Tour on the Wii, we headed to Mike’s mom’s house. At Donna’s the boys each got a gift card to Fry’s and Mike & Brie got two tickets to see Jeff Dunham (www.jeffdunham.com).

Then it was back home for some clean up and relaxation. Next up…Sean’s 18th, yes 18th!!! Birthday, tomorrow.
